AALA – AALS

Activity Licensing,

People often ask us if we have an activities license through AALA, now known as AALS

This is a scheme that ensures that people providing adventurous activities are inspected and follow all the required procedures.

We do NOT have an AALA License because none of our activities fall within the scope of the licensing scheme i.e. are not considered adventurous.

Activities that would fall under this scheme are:

  • Caving
  • Climbing
  • Trekking
  • Watersports

Although we offer 3 of those, they do not fit into the scheme. For example, our climbing tower is a man made structure designed for climbing. The scheme covers the likes of natural crags etc.

See: https://www.hse.gov.uk/aala/activities.htm

We do work to many of the parameters of AALA as part of our safety systems but we are not eligible to apply for a license.
